The Right Roofing Contractor Makes All The Difference In Bergen County
Bergen County has one of the most demanding housing environments in New Jersey. Split-levels, Colonials, Tudors, Victorians — each with different roof pitches, material histories, and municipal permitting quirks. A contractor who works broadly across the state doesn't have the same depth of local knowledge as one who has spent 25 years specifically in Bergen County towns.
Aspen Home Remodeling is based in Oradell, fully licensed under NJHIC #13VH0977800, and GAF-certified — which means manufacturer-backed warranty tiers that standard contractors simply cannot offer. We give honest assessments, written estimates, and no high-pressure tactics.
What separates a good roofing contractor from a bad one:
- NJ HIC license — verifiable directly with the Division of Consumer Affairs
- General Liability AND Workers' Compensation certificates — request both
- Manufacturer certification — GAF, Owens Corning, or CertainTeed preferred
- Written, itemized estimate — not a verbal quote or single-line number
- Local references — in Bergen County specifically, not just "New Jersey"
- No same-day pressure — anyone who needs a signature before leaving is a red flag
Every Roof Type Bergen County Homes Need
From architectural shingles on a Colonial to EPDM on a flat addition — we install and repair every roofing system type found across Bergen County.
Asphalt Architectural Shingles
The dominant choice for Bergen County homes. GAF Timberline and comparable architectural shingles offer the ideal balance of curb appeal, weather resistance, and value. Full tear-off, underlayment replacement, and ridge ventilation included as standard.
Most Popular
Metal Roofing
Superior longevity and wind resistance for Bergen County's storm exposure. Metal roofs shed snow, withstand 130+ MPH winds, and typically last 40–70 years. A long-term investment for homeowners who want to roof once and never think about it again.
Premium Longevity
Flat & Low-Slope Roofing
EPDM, TPO, and modified bitumen systems for additions, garages, and commercial-style residential flat sections. Engineered specifically to prevent ponding — the primary failure mode for flat roofs in the wet NJ climate.

The Only Number That Matters Is Yours
Roofing costs in Bergen County vary based on your home's specific size, roof pitch, material selection, and what we find when we inspect the decking. National averages and online ranges don't account for Bergen County's permitting requirements, labor rates, or the condition of a 30-year-old roof. Anyone who gives you a firm number without seeing your roof isn't being straight with you. We'll give you a free inspection and a written, itemized estimate — so you know exactly what you're paying and why.

How To Know When Your Roof Needs Attention
Most roofs don't fail without warning. Here are the signals Bergen County homeowners miss — and what each one actually means.
Water Stains on Ceilings
Brown rings mean active moisture. The entry point is usually several feet uphill of the stain — get it inspected before it spreads to framing.
Missing or Curling Shingles
Even one missing shingle exposes underlayment to UV and rain. Wind-lifted edges mean the adhesive strip has failed.
Granules in Gutters
Heavy granule loss signals the back half of your shingles' service life. The protective coating is gone — UV degradation accelerates rapidly after this point.
Sagging Roofline
Any visible dip means the decking is compromised. This is the one sign that means call today — structural failure is not a repair-later situation.
Flashing Failure
Cracked or rusted metal around chimneys, vents, and skylights is the #1 source of mystery leaks in Bergen County homes.

EXCELLENT Based on 285 reviews Posted on Google Mike SmithTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. russ and his crew are highly recommended. he was with us through the whole project and we couldnt be happier.Posted on Google ALAN FEIGENSONTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Russell Bendian and his crew did an amazing job yesterday. They replaced my roof. My roof is very steep, and it wasn't easy, but it looks beautiful. They were here every day on time, and the cleanup was unbelievable. If I could give them 6 stars I would. Russell is honest and wants to make sure you are happy before he is finished. My wife would like to add to the review. Russell Bendian, the owner, is very much a gentleman and followed through on everything he promised. He is a great communicator and responded immediately when we reached out to him. His staff is amongst the hardest-working people we have ever seen. We will be calling Russell again for future projects.Posted on Google Carmine GiacominiTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Had siding done on our home, Russel and his men did a great job.Posted on Google Robert BroschardTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. My wife and I recently hired Aspen Home Remodeling to replace 2 very large original windows in our 1950's house. We've wanted to replace these windows for many years but could not find a contractor interested in doing the work at a cost we were willing to pay. I reached out to Russ (who is the owner) from Aspen and another national company that mails us weekly flyers. Russ came to our house within a couple of days from first contact. I mentioned to Russ that we've had a hard time finding a contractor to replace our windows and he said that he "loves a good challenge". He evaluated our windows and provided a detailed cost proposal that was within our budget. We went back and forth a few times because my wife and I were undecided on what type of window configuration we wanted. Russ was extremely patient and always provided updated and timely cost proposals. I might mention that Russ proposed using Wincore Windows as the replacement solution. I never heard of Wincore before so I did some research. I found out that they are an excellent company with a reputation for providing high quality windows at a significant cost savings to more well known name brands with a much better warranty as well. We did get a 2nd estimate from the national company that constantly advertises and we never got a detailed cost proposal only a final number which was approximately 2.5 times higher that what Aspen quoted us. Additionally, we were pressured to commit to their proposal after a 2 hour presentation. So, in the end Aspen completed the job in the specified time and within the agreed upon cost estimate and my property was left spotless as Russ promised. I would highly recommend Aspen Home Remodeling with any of your renovation projects.Posted on Google ChristineTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Russ and his team are ultimate professionals! I did a window project with Aspen, and from start to finish, they were very easy to work with and their pricing was extremely fair. I don't often leave reviews, but I wanted to leave this one because I've been burned in the past by shady vendors, so I wanted everyone to know Aspen is very reliable. Russ is an upstanding, trustworthy businessman. I highly recommend Aspen for all your roofing and windows needs.Posted on Google Dorgam AbdellatifTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I couldn’t be more happier than Aspen Roofing, the owner Russ was a true Gentleman, a man of his word. I did not know him at all didn’t know who to hire or trust to install my house and Garage Roof. I read about his excellent reviews and I had no choice but to hire him. From the first day I met him I knew that I was going to hire him, gave me a copy of his insurance and license on the spot before I hired him also he gave me a good price. I called 6 other roofers and they were a big joke there prices were outrageous. Please please don’t hesitate to call Aspen. If you don’t believe me just take a ride past my house at 232 broad street Clifton and pop your head out your window look at my roof and you will fall in love with the beautiful work they done. His workers are very good and smart.I couldn’t be happier with there work he just finished it today you will have nothing to lose by hiring him. Thanks again Russ, Doug God bless you and your entire crew. Now I consider you family, please people this is the gods honest truth on how much I am essatic.Posted on Google Maurice ChenTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We just had our siding replaced by Russ and his team at Aspen Home. Very responsive and helpful all the way through. The outcome was better than how we imagined, and was done in just 4 days of work. There were a few small items that came out slightly different, and was fixed in short order. Great experience and planning. I 100% recommend.Posted on Google Anil ChackoTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We worked with Aspen for new siding, windows and gutters. Unlike other companies who often have different people for various parts of the work (someone who will come to provide a quote, to discuss follow up details of the job, etc), with Aspen you work directly with Russ- which is great. Russ talked through his company, discussed options, costs and timeline etc. When we were looking for a particular color for our siding, he went out of his way to find exactly what we were looking for. The back-and-forth between us and Russ was seamless. It was comforting that Russ was managing things from A to Z. The project also started ahead of schedule and went very fast! The crew did a great job with everything and were very professional. If there were any potential issues, Russ talked us through it and provided options. Russ and his team even problem-solved some unexpected challenges in order to get us what we were looking for with the project. Overall, we are highly satisfied with the work, the personal touch and professionalism!Posted on Google Juliet BarrTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Outstanding Service From Aspen Home Remodeling! My husband and I were ready to replace 7 windows in our newly renovated family room/ home office. We knew this would be a costly undertaking but the time had come. We did our homework and interviewed several companies. Russ Bendian impressed us from the start, as the owner of the company (and not a slick salesman) coming to our home to asses our needs. He listened to what we had in mind and made suggestions. We appreciated that we were not given a hard sell, but just an honest approach to what Aspen could provide and a realistic timeline. The other companies fell short in many ways, and we are so happy we went with Aspen. We dealt only with Russ, and the communication was outstanding. The windows came in right when they were promised, and finished in one day. Of course they look fantastic- and the crew was very impressive as well. I wish we could give Aspen more than 5 stars! ⭐️Posted on Google Norinne LeeTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Yesterday I met with Russell. I have three windows I needed replaced. As soon as he saw my window he turned to me and said they did not need replacing only repair. Told me he recommends a man who can easily and inexpensively repair them. I was so shocked as I really thought they all needed to be replaced. He called him from my house to come and see them. Wow! I cannot say enough about him. Such a decent and honest man in today’s world is hard to find. He could have told me they needed to be replaced and I would have done that. But being a decent man he told me the truth. If you are looking for a man/company that is decent and good, call him. Btw, John Driscoll came to my home 2 hours later and will be fixing my windows next week. Another decent man. Restored your faith in man. Really, I cannot say enough good things about him. Thank you Russell 😊Verified by TrustindexTrustindex verified badge is the Universal Symbol of Trust.
